The Appalachian Trail is also called the A.T. is a hiking trail in the eastern part of the United States of America. The Appalachian Trail extends over 2,200 miles between the Southern terminus Springer Mountain in Georgia and the Northern terminus Mount Katahdin in Maine. The A.T. traverses through 14 states. The A.T. travels through Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. The Appalachian Trail was first proposed in 1921 and completed 1937.
